Rod Schejtman is an acclaimed, award-winning composer known for blending classical symphonic music with film scoring to create a sound that bridges the past and the future. His background as an engineer allows him to merge technical precision with artistic expression.
This unique combination helped him earn the prestigious "World Winner" title at the WorldVision Composers Contest in Vienna, Austria—often called the "World Cup of Classical Music." Supported by 60 renowned brands, including Steinway & Sons, Bechstein, and the New York Philharmonic, the contest brought together top classical composers from 32 countries. After a rigorous two-year competition that included regional, national, and continental elimination rounds, Schejtman emerged as the global winner.
His remarkable achievements have been showcased by major global media outlets, including the front page of Diario Perfil, Argentina's leading newspaper, as well as Revista Noticias, Radio Nacional, CNN TV, C21 Noticias, and Opera World. Widely celebrated as both a 'national pride' in Argentina and 'one of the finest classical composers in the world', Schejtman has continued to expand his creative horizons by collaborating with some of the industry's most iconic figures.
Following this triumph, Schejtman relocated to Los Angeles, California, where he collaborated with the legendary Hollywood star Lalo Schifrin, a five-time Grammy Award winner, four-time Emmy Award recipient, and Honorary Oscar winner. Globally recognized for creating the iconic Mission: Impossible theme — an achievement immortalized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame—Schifrin invited Schejtman to join forces to compose a masterwork dedicated to their country, Argentina.
Together, they co-composed a 35-minute symphony for a hundred musicians, seamlessly blending Schejtman’s classical finesse with Schifrin’s cinematic brilliance. This symphony is set to tour the world's most prestigious concert halls, with its world premiere at Argentina's historic Teatro Colón on April 5, 2025, marking the theater’s centennial anniversary.
As a pianist and composer, Schejtman breathes new life into the lost art of classical improvisation, once mastered by the great composers. He is capable of creating live performances where every note is crafted on the spot—nothing is read or memorized—resulting in endless streams of original classical music.
"It has been a very gratifying experience working with Rod Schejtman for the past six months. We have jointly composed a symphony dedicated to Argentina and our optimism that its best days are ahead. This symphony is going to be performed at the Teatro Colón on April 5, 2025, and hopefully, this will be the first of many works we compose together."
